Market Intelligence
Our Vision
In a world where data is abundant, traveller choices constantly evolve, new behaviours emerge, and fierce competition increases, we are building the consumer insights tool for DMOs and travel brands, that help them position their destinations and attract the travellers they value the most, by providing market intelligence, pointing trends and giving data-driven recommendations.
Our Story
"Travellyze was not designed to produce data, it was designed to produce answers and drive data-led tourism marketing strategies" - Henrik Koch, Founder -

A minister of tourism asked Danish tourism marketing expert Henrik Koch "What is my country's image among Nordic travellers?". This question launches Henrik into six years of meticulous research, trial and error to develop the innovative data capture methodology and complex analytics algorithms needed for the job. Thus Travellyze was born!

The survey
We perform a semestral extensive survey of over 20,000 leisure travellers yearly from a statistically representative sample reflecting the demographic makeup of the main European markets.
  • How do you ensure a representative sample?
The surveys are conducted among a fully strategically representative cross-section of 1,000-3,000 panelists from each market. To ensure that each market is properly represented, the gathered data is weighted according to gender, age, and geography.
  • How do you select your respondents?
First, the panellists' demographics are registered. Then a simple and random selection of the market's inhabitants is drawn based on the demographics. These panellists then receive an online questionnaire that they answer via PC or tablet.
  • How is it distributed and why it matters?
The surveys encompass responses from a certain number of people over the age of 18, distributed reasonably across the markets' regions. The large size of our surveys ensures a high degree of statistical certainty but also ample opportunity for breaking down the background data.
  • In which markets do you run your survey?
We perform our survey in 10 European countries: Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and the UK. We also aggregate data to compose two regional markets: the Nordic Countries and Europe.
